This pizza recipe uses all fresh ingredients. Me and my family absolutely love this recipe. Feel free to add whatever topping you like. I topped one of my pizza's with 54% beef salami, spinach and onion. The other pizza has extra cheese and tomato on top. The cheese I am using is fresh mozzarella (straight from the water bag). Pizza is such a great comfort food and to be honest I would've had these two to myself but, as they say, sharing is caring.
500g strong white bread flour
2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 Tsp Salt
Approx. 300ml water
Ingredients (tomato sauce)
1 or 2 handfuls of cherry tomatoes
1 tsp sugar
1/8 tsp baking powder
Combine all dry ingredients together, including the salt and the sugar with a braed knife
Once you've combined the ingredients add the olive oil
Pour water little by while mixing with the bread knife until you get a dough
Leave the dough inside the bowl and cover with clingfilm. Leave to the side for 30-40 mins, until the dough expands.
Knead the dough until it becomes soft and stretchy
Divide your dough depending on how big you want your pizza. If you want it really big just leave it as it is.
Roll out the dough and place it on foil or anything that is suitable for the oven.
For the sauce - heat some oil in a pan.
Finely chop the onions and toss them into the pan
Shallow fry until slightly caramelised and then add your tomatoes
Fry until the tomatoes have dissolved
Por some water (not alot!)
Add the sugar to the sauce
Bring to the boil and simmer for a few minutes
Add the baking powder and stir.
Add the salt, pepper, garlic and basil to your desired taste
Allow the sauce to cool slightly before adding on top of the pizza(s)
Top your pizza with whatever cheeses and toppings you like
Pop into the oven for 20-25 mins
Allow to slightly cool before serving
